A Bit About Me

Jarrod Smith

Developer who builds things that matter

I'm a full-stack developer and single father of two. Between school runs and bedtime stories, I build software that makes people's jobs easier. There's something deeply satisfying about watching a tool you created save someone hours of frustration—that's what gets me out of bed in the morning.

I'm direct. I say what I mean, whether I'm talking to a junior dev or a C-suite executive. I've found that clear, honest communication builds trust faster than anything else—and it saves everyone time. If there's a problem, I'll flag it early. If I disagree, you'll know. And if I commit to something, it gets done.

When I'm not writing code, you'll find me under the hood of a car, out on a hiking trail, at the ice rink, or tearing up the road on a motorcycle. And sometimes—after the kids are asleep—I'm guilty of binge-watching a good show. Balance matters.

I believe the best software comes from understanding the people who use it. I've spent enough time on help desks and in labs to know that the technical solution is only half the problem—the other half is making it work for real humans with real workflows.
